Voluntary Participation. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. Volunteers participating in any Faith & Growth activity are not employees, contractors, or agents of Faith & Growth in any legal capacity. Volunteers are not entitled to wages, salary, benefits, reimbursement, or compensation of any kind. Either party may end the volunteer arrangement at any time for any reason with no obligation, notice period, or liability.
Future Pay Goal. Faith & Growth's stated long-term goal is to transition active and committed volunteers into paid roles (currently estimated at approximately $18/hour) as business revenue allows. This is an expressed aspiration only and does not constitute a promise, contract, offer of employment, or guarantee of future compensation. No volunteer may rely on this statement as a binding commitment.
Minimum Age. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Applicants who are 16 or 17 years old require a parent or legal guardian to review and consent to this agreement before any volunteer activity begins.
E-SIGN Act Compliance. By completing the electronic signature in this application, you acknowledge and agree that your e-signature constitutes a legally binding signature to the same extent as a handwritten ink signature, pursuant to the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-SIGN Act, 15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.) and applicable state electronic signature laws, including the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) as adopted by Washington State (RCW 1.80).
Representations. By signing, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are the individual named in this application and have full legal authority to enter into this agreement; (b) you have carefully read and understand the entire contents of this agreement; (c) you are signing freely and voluntarily, without coercion or duress; (d) you intend your electronic signature to serve as a legally binding signature; and (e) you have had the opportunity to seek independent legal advice before signing.
Record Retention. A copy of this signed agreement will be transmitted electronically to Faith & Growth upon submission and retained as a permanent legal record. You are strongly encouraged to download and save a copy of this signed agreement for your own records. Faith & Growth may use this record in any legal proceeding or dispute resolution.
Minors. If the volunteer is under 18, this agreement is signed under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who must provide written consent separately. Faith & Growth reserves the right to require a parent or guardian's physical signature before a minor volunteer begins any activity.
Scope. During and after your time with Faith & Growth, you agree to keep all Faith & Growth information strictly confidential. Confidential information includes but is not limited to: product designs and prototypes, 3D model source files and STL files, print settings and manufacturing processes, supplier and vendor information, pricing structures, business plans and strategies, customer personal data and order history, financial records, and all internal communications and processes.
Duration. This confidentiality obligation begins immediately and continues indefinitely after your last day as a volunteer, regardless of the reason the volunteer relationship ended. This obligation survives termination of this agreement.
Breach. Unauthorized disclosure of confidential information may cause irreparable harm to Faith & Growth and may entitle Faith & Growth to seek injunctive relief and monetary damages.
Work Made for Hire. To the fullest extent permitted by law, all work created by a volunteer during their time with Faith & Growth — including but not limited to 3D models, STL files, design files, written content, marketing materials, photographs, videos, graphics, code, and business ideas — is created as a "work made for hire" and is the sole and exclusive intellectual property of Faith & Growth from the moment of creation.
Assignment. To the extent that any work created does not qualify as a work made for hire, the volunteer hereby irrevocably and unconditionally assigns to Faith & Growth all right, title, and interest in and to such work, including all copyrights, patent rights, trademark rights, trade secrets, and all other intellectual property rights worldwide. This assignment is perpetual, royalty-free, and sublicensable.
Moral Rights Waiver. The volunteer waives, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any and all moral rights or rights of attribution in works created for Faith & Growth.
No Unauthorized Use. Volunteers may not reproduce, copy, distribute, share, publish, license, sell, or use any Faith & Growth intellectual property — including designs, files, branding, and methods — for any personal or third-party purpose without prior explicit written permission from the owner of Faith & Growth.
Non-Compete Agreement (24 Months). During the volunteer period and for a period of twenty-four (24) months following the volunteer's last day with Faith & Growth, the volunteer agrees not to directly or indirectly: design, manufacture, produce, sell, distribute, market, or materially assist any other individual or business entity in creating products that are substantially similar to, directly derived from, or competitive with any product in Faith & Growth's product line. This includes 3D-printed plant starter systems, seed starting accessories, hydroponic gardening products, faith-based home décor, and any other product the volunteer was directly or indirectly exposed to during their time with Faith & Growth.
No Knockoffs. The volunteer specifically and unconditionally agrees never to reproduce, reverse-engineer, copy, adapt, upload, or distribute any Faith & Growth product design — in whole or in part — on any platform, marketplace, or community, including but not limited to Thingiverse, Printables, Makerworld, Etsy, eBay, or Amazon, without explicit prior written authorization from Faith & Growth's owner.
Original Work. If the volunteer creates their own products after departing, those products must be entirely original, developed using no Faith & Growth designs, files, methods, or proprietary knowledge acquired through their volunteer activities.
Non-Solicitation (12 Months). For twelve (12) months following the volunteer's last day, the volunteer agrees not to solicit, recruit, or encourage any Faith & Growth customer, vendor, supplier, or fellow volunteer to engage with any competing business or personal commercial venture.
Safety Rules. All volunteers must complete required on-site safety training before using any tool, machine, or piece of equipment. Faith & Growth's 10-point workspace safety rules (provided separately) are incorporated into this agreement by reference and must be followed at all times.
Minor Safety Restrictions. Volunteers under age 18 are strictly prohibited from: (a) participating in physical product assembly; (b) operating 3D printers or any powered machinery; (c) using sharp, heat, or chemical tools; and (d) being present in the production workspace without an adult supervisor (age 18+) present at all times.
Professional Conduct. All volunteers must behave respectfully and professionally. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, or threatening behavior in any form is prohibited and will result in immediate removal from the program.
Right to Remove. Faith & Growth reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to deny any application or to remove any volunteer from the program immediately and without prior notice or further obligation.
Faith & Growth shall not be liable for any personal injury, property damage, financial loss, or consequential damages arising from volunteer activities, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct directly attributable to Faith & Growth. Volunteers participate in all activities at their own risk. This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflicts of law provisions. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Thurston County, Washington. Both parties consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
This agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the volunteer and Faith & Growth regarding the volunteer relationship and supersedes all prior oral or written agreements, representations, or discussions. If any provision of this agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. This agreement may be modified only in writing, signed by the owner of Faith & Growth.
